Our Prayer Garden
Dedicated to the memory of Cory May
In the late Summer of July ‘04, final touches were made on Lansing Teen Challenge’s newly dedicated Prayer Garden.
The Garden was the creative ‘pet project’ and aspiration of Cory May, a former student of LTC. Delayed for some time by other more imperative projects, the Prayer Garden was forced to be postponed until the right combination of resources and talent were blessed to LTC.
The hopes of Pastor Turner finally became a reality last summer when generous donations and a few student sketches began to transpire into an arduous, three month-long passion for Pastor Jeff and a few dedicated students. Now complete (for the moment), students enjoy the Prayer Garden daily with it’s color-splashed flowerbeds, sprawling red-brick walkway and, of course, the beautiful cascading waterfall which spills over into a 25,000 gallon pond lined and draped with hundreds of our own home-grown Michigan field stone.
Located onsite, the Garden lies just inside the main entrance of our building, blanketing the courtyard of the facility with a slice of God’s “floral glory.”
The Garden offers Lansing Teen Challenge students the opportunity to pray, meditate on the Word, and get closer to God in a soothing and personal atmosphere. Also, during visitation periods, students and family alike take pleasure in spending their quality time in the Prayer Garden. Finally, as always, the public is invited to drop in anytime and see what Teen Challenge is all about...
Check out the Japanese Koi fish, or just visit the Garden and praise God with us! God Bless You and Keep You... |
